So, we were supposed to have played Six Flags "Live And Local" showcase last weekend, but it's being postponed (no date yet, but we'll letcha know). Why? Well, the park wasn't paying close enough attention and booked us on... Christian Day. Really. We would have been prohibited from using the word "Hell" in any signage--for instance, featuring our own name. We tried to think of a pseudonym to go by, like "Jesus's Super Bad Ass Rockin' Cross Warriors Of Heavy Metal Heaven" or "Stryper", but nothing quite fit. Mind you, we would have played--oh boy, would we ever have--but somehow Six Flags was wise to the fact that we wouldn't actually change the chorus of Bad Mofo to, "And he sure, loves his mother!" So, instead of scaring the bejeezus out of families, we spent the weekend at home... praying to Lucifer.

Among the most amusing things that happened to us at SXSW, we threw in our lot with a company called Vida and did a promotional spot for them. Being good business men, we never bothered to ask first what exactly it was that they made… turns out it was space-age vibrators. As endorsements go, that’s way cooler than, say, drum sticks. Looking at the fine line of Vida products, we’re still not sure exactly, um, “what goes where”, but we guess finding out is part of the fun… their slogan, after all, is “Explore Vida”.

We’ve received what is certainly our most flattering piece of press. Flattering, not because it’s positive—though it is—but because it was by CFM Music Scene, a publication designed by women, for women, which only features bands the editors consider incredibly hot. Really. We can’t tell you what “CFM” stands for because we have a pending endorsement deal with Disney (not at all true), but it’s saucy! Anyway, the article—a nice, in depth piece on us, with some good back story about our origins—ran a little while ago, but we missed it. We drank a lot in February. It was cold.

Enjoy the piece, and leave us a comment telling us how devastatingly attractive we are! If you don’t, we’ll send you our beefcake calendar to convince you... and, trust us, flattery is the easier route.

Hot on the heels of our crushing appearance at the Millennium Music Conference 14 in PA, we're headed to Austin, TX for two headlining shows at SXSW, the biggest, most prestigious music festival in the US! Thursday, 3/18, we play the devastatingly important sounding "Sennheiser Music Supervisor Showcase & Industry Mixer" on the Speakeasy Rooftop. Friday, 3/19, we close out the "Official SXSW Music Stimulus Party 2010" at The Parish, which had 1,500 people turn out last year! We're finalizing the artwork, then the CD gets pressed, submitted to iTunes and handed off to this rock psychic who claims she can transmit it telepathically onto the airwaves. (It's probably a scam, but it's our only shot of getting past the censors, so we figure it's worth the $70.)

We'll give you all the details about the making of the CD in the next newsletter, along with where to finally get your twitching hands on it. What's that?
